Has pepper spray also been used in the US as a police tactic to disperse peaceful protesters, even those occupying a space illegally, or is this something new? Up here it is only used if the protesters turn violent, which is how it should be.

Happened in WTO in 1999. The militarization of the police forces is something the DHS saw to in the wake of 9/11. This is what we bought.

I can't tell if its UC Davis quad or East Germany in the 1970's.

Doesn't do any damn good saying that to someone who hasn't got any shame, or even the tiniest fragment of human decency.

Btw, has anybody not caught on by now that all of the above is the rule and not the exception??
