my lj friend just dug up a comment where I had posted that photo AGES ago (in response to the current situation).

I specifically looked for one that was not cropped on the right. It shows a soldier calmly reaching for a cigarette while the children run past him.

Funny that she lives in the US now. They may have practically killed her but she doesn't seem to hold it against them.

I'm not saying that makes it right in any way shape or form though. But I expected this to be the eventual outcome.

Its odd, we lost vietnam, and we have good relations.

We won Korea, and they are supposedly our deadly ememy.

Overly simplistic, I know...

I was watching this special on Korea back in the good old days of having News World International, and as I told M., "So, like, we never won, did we? I mean, technically, the war is not actually OVER..."

Did you listen to David's Korea song? He nailed it.

MASH was supposed to be Korea right?

I did now. :)

I'm going to have to study the Korean war further & see what sort of parallels I can see.

M*A*S*H was Korea yes, although the series lasted several times as long as the war. I never watched much TV growing up (or now) but I remember growing up on M*A*S*H and still get taken back to my childhood by the macabre theme song.
