My fathers war. Everyone he killed deserved it. He didn't see their faces. Mostly.

Sometimes he saw their families. We should have bombed the dikes and starved them out.

Kerry knew this war. Kerry told the truth. We vilified him.

We rejected a veteran who told us a truth we do not wish to hear.

We blamed the messenger.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. But you knew that.

On the other hand, what's this "we" shit, white man? :)

History doesn't repeat (rpeate!) but it rhymes. (I forget who said that....cause I'm bushaken.

Kill me now tonto.

Know what? I'm going to stick to my guns: the villification was there, but Kerry was just the symbol of how liberalism has slipped into discredit: lotsa words, but no plan.

Let's face it: the conservatives' myths and fictions remain strong. How many /Dems/ acknowledge the hideous history of industrialized capital?
It's open-house for the robber barons until and unless folk bear in mind that they're hired hands and not masters in their own land.

In 1971 he spoke out against the war in Vietnam.

His testimony was very influential. That was his sin.

Hey, I saw some video of him ... pretty impressive.
Now, mind, I would have called him a liberal back then ... but that, for me, is now the front-line: basic liberal values ... rule of law and all that.

The Enron / Halliburton presidency ...
... the moralistic majority is going to go down in history.

See going upriver sometime. I have a rip of it if you have 600 MB of space....

the moralistic majority is going to go down in history.

They will write some, that is sad. But hey, dust to dust, eh?

Thanks for the link, and the offer, but no ... oh no god no. Looking back on things, I think I watched and read and produced way too much of that ... film festivals, slide-tape shows, presentations ... the stuff of nightmares.
I have neither a community of activists nor a support network ATM ... I don't need to be flipping out completely.

"''the moralistic majority is going to go down in history.''
They will write some, that is sad.
"
Mmmmmm?
I'm thinking that this moment, which could be a water-shed, will be very well documented.

Can't you see it? "The Dementing of a Nation"

Dust to dust ... true, foundational, but I think something a tad more up-lifting is called for.

Its not too bad of a film. Made me feel proud to be antiwar, actually.

Take care Ben. Gotta run to work.

all of this war zone, land water and air

I'm sure it's a fine film, bro' ...
... it's like all the lacerations I've self-inflicted are coming open ... kind of like what happens with scurvy.

Great lyrics; love the CDs you sent me.
