Buy Or Die
Jun. 9th, 2010 11:13 amRalph America is (soon to be was) a truly creative music label in biz since the 70's. They carved out their vibe in the industry with releases of the Residents, Renaldo and the Loaf, Snakefinger, and a ton of other eclectic but true artists. It sadly has fallen to the dark side of file sharing, they say so quite clearly. This is sad news for it’s a loss of extreme creativity in a world that is all too enamored with conformity and profit.
File sharers, what have we done?

Ralph America will be closing after 11 years on August 15, 2010. Changes in the music business have made it very difficult for small operations to exist as the world goes download. There are sites where you can download all RA titles for free (RSD ones too) so trying to stay in business no longer works very well. RSD will also be pulling back on issuing music due to the free download sites.
EuroRalph faced a similar situation last year and also closed down.
Welcome to the new reality.
