2,900++. Not too long ago, 2,800. (If those numbers are even to be believed...)

Choppers are going down in Falluja area and four more Marine families are having a worse Christmas. I guess it keeps the economy running. Congress likes that sort of thing. $$$ The pilot of a F16 downed near Falluja was listed as "Killed In Action". I didn't think the Iraqi resistance could down a F16, but apparently so. His five children now lack a father.

Mercinary war profiteers Contractors apparently number 100,000 in Iraq; "War Is $ell". Gee, there are nearly as many mercs and war profiteers as there are Americans soldiers....I wonder why Iraq is so fucked up?

The Iraq report is coming out, and I am not expecting much but more war from the war profiteers beholden to the military industrial congressional complex built with our tax dollars and fear.

Nine Iraqis slain in airstrike, including two women and a two to three year old child.

Nine soldiers killed in Iraq will not be home for Christmas.

Iraq is not a healthy place for American soldiers to be, even the local scorpions are causing casualties.

An Iraq, shattered by an American invasion and occupation limps into 2007

"American soldiers are angry and frustrated with Iraqis. Iraqis are angry and frustrated with Americans. Many Iraqis just want American soldiers to go away, and I struggle within myself not to agree. Day after day I observe the interactions of Americans with Iraqis and am often ashamed. I see that required classes given to all American soldiers on cultural sensitivity do not work; 100,000 or more American soldiers daily interacting, engaging and fighting Iraqis within their own society for more than three years will inevitably create a wellspring of citizen hostility. In this war, none of us can change who we fundamentally are." - major bill edmonds, special forces.
I too am ashamed by this war. How anyone can look at the wake of death and destruction Iraq has suffered and then utter the word victory is beyond me. The soldier should do what is right and natural and come home. I wonder if he knows about the GI Rights Hotline?
